Isla Mujeres Proposal and Engagement at Punta Sur | Jay + Kimberly
Jay and Kimberly met in high school from mutual friends at a boba shop and they’ve been together ever since - 7 years and counting! They knew each other was ‘the one’ when they moved in together and found themselves making each other better everyday.
Jay chose Isla Mujeres to propose because it was the place they visited on one of their first vacations together. They really wanted to see Punta Sur then, but it was closed at the time. As Jay put it “proposing at Punta Sur was a perfect circle moment as now we're both in our careers and visiting a place that brings back memories of our younger college days”.
Jay shared that he felt super anxious and nervous about everything going as planned and on schedule, but at the same time excited for a moment of the lifetime.
When Jay contacted me, he shared that they were vacationing with friends and were staying in Cancun at the Grand Palladium Costa Mujeres. The plan was to visit Punta Sur with their friends and finally see the south point and I would approach them when they arrived at the ruins saying that I ‘wanted to build my portfolio and would they all like to do some photos’. Well Kimberly took the bait and didn’t have any idea what the real plan was! It was perfect!
When I asked her later how she felt right after the proposal, she said “flooded with emotion and awe at the planning behind the proposal. It felt grand and I felt an overwhelming feeling of love and tenderness. I genuinely was surprised!”
After the big I DO, Jay, Kimberly and I headed out and about the cliffs of Punta Sur taking their engagement photos while their friends explored the cliffs on their own.
What a wonderful couple! I couldn’t be happier for Jay and Kimberly as they start the next phase of their lives together!
