Isla Mujeres LGBTQ+ Dreamy Proposal and Engagement | Leane + Katie

Two years ago, Leane and Katie met online and they have been together ever since. I asked them when they knew the moment when the other person was their forever partner, Leane shared “When everything we did seemed familiar, almost like we were together in another past live. There was always something that didn’t feel right in our previous relationships, but with us - everything was natural and easy - almost like we’ve been together for over 10 years.”

Like many of my clients, they were staying in Cancun. Leane knew that Katie had always dreamed of a beach proposal, but they didn’t want to do it at their Cancun resort. A friend had recommended the island and when Leane saw photos of the island and especially Punta Sur, they knew it was the perfect place to propose!

I was almost time for them to leave their hotel, but Katie decided to take a long nap and the plans went out the window. Leane was a bit nervous, but it all worked out in the end.

I asked Katie how she felt when Leane proposed and she said “I was overwhelmed with joy whilst standing o the cliffside and seeing my fiancé down on one knee.”

After the big YES, we walked around the cliffs of Punta Sur continuing to take photos. After about an hour, we headed to the beach for some additional photos and a bottle of champagne to celebrate the beginning of this incredible milestone in their relationship.

I couldn’t be happier for Leane and Katie and I was honored to be there to capture this next phase in their love story.
