Three years ago, Walker took a spontaneous solo trip from Texas to Cancun. With no real agenda, he booked a bed in a local hostel, ready for a bit of adventure. What he didn’t expect was meeting a girl from Germany who would completely change his life.

Her name was Maike.

The two quickly connected and decided to travel together to Isla Mujeres, staying at the Salina Hostel on the island. What began as a chance meeting between two travelers from opposite sides of the world turned into a beautiful relationship built on curiosity, laughter, and fate.

The Perfect Proposal at Punta Sur

When Walker contacted me about photographing his proposal, he already had the location picked out. Punta Sur—the island’s southernmost point known for its dramatic cliffs, sweeping Caribbean views, and mystical Mayan energy—was the only place he could imagine asking Maike to spend forever with him.
