Family Photos on Isla Mujeres with the Lescure’s

One of the greatest joys of being an Isla Mujeres family photographer is getting to reconnect with past clients and see their stories unfold over the years. A few years ago, I photographed this beautiful couple’s wedding right here on Isla Mujeres — a vibrant, love-filled day surrounded by turquoise waters and island sunshine. So when they reached out to say they were returning to the island for a family vacation with their young son and the bride’s parents, I couldn’t have been happier to capture this new chapter in their lives.

We began our family photo session on Isla Mujeres near one of the island’s iconic colorful buildings — the perfect place to bring in some fun Caribbean charm. The bright walls and rustic textures made an incredible backdrop for the family’s laughter and connection. Their little boy was full of curiosity and smiles, completely stealing the show as he explored every corner. Seeing the couple again, now as parents, was such a heartwarming reminder of how quickly life changes — and how photography helps preserve those fleeting moments.

We then made our way to a secluded beach on Isla Mujeres for last afternoon photos. The soft golden light, gentle ocean breeze, and quiet surroundings created the perfect setting for relaxed, candid images. The turquoise water shimmered behind them as waves lapped at the shore, and I captured the family simply enjoying each other — parents laughing and grandparents cuddling their grandson.
