Isla Mujeres Elopement | Kennedy + Kelson

I absolutely have to start by saying how much I adored Kennedy’s green dress—it was simply stunning on her! The color popped against the natural beauty of Isla Mujeres, and she wore it with so much grace and confidence.

Kennedy and Kelson’s story began six years ago at an Italian restaurant. Kelson was running the bar program, and Kennedy was a hangry patron. When she was told there would be a 40-minute wait, she and her sister decided to grab seats at the bar and wait for their table. Little did they know, this casual encounter would lead to many more shared meals for the rest of their lives! Kelson handed Kennedy a menu and joked, asking if she’d be dining with him that night. Their connection was instant, and what started as a spontaneous moment soon blossomed into something much deeper.

Kennedy and Kelson had visited Isla Mujeres before and immediately fell in love with the island’s charm and welcoming atmosphere. The beauty of the ocean and the peaceful energy of the island kept pulling them back, so when it came time to elope, Isla Mujeres was the only place they could imagine.

They reached out to Isla Mujeres Elopements and were thrilled by their packages - it was exactly what they wanted!

For their ceremony, they chose a beautiful quote by Nat King Cole: “The greatest thing you’ll ever learn is just to love and be loved in return.” It was the perfect sentiment to capture their bond. After the ceremony, as we took photos on the beach, they enjoyed champagne while Alejandro serenaded them with the soft melodies of Bossa Nova and Spanish guitar.

Before the ceremony on the beach, we visited Punta Sur for a pre-ceremony couples session, and I couldn’t have been happier with how the photos turned out.
