An Isla Mujeres Surprise Proposal…Times Two at Punta Sur

Some love stories move quickly, but only because they’re so undeniably right. Miguel and Sean told me, “when you know, you know,” and after spending time with them at Punta Sur, I could feel exactly what they meant.

Miguel originally reached out to me to capture a surprise proposal for Sean at what I lovingly call “wave point,” my favorite corner on the south side of the island. With dramatic cliffs, crashing waves, and endless ocean views, it’s one of the most breathtaking and intimate spots on Isla Mujeres and perfect for a moment as meaningful as this.

Miguel was excited, a little nervous, and completely sure of what he was about to do. The plan was simple: bring Sean to this stunning viewpoint, soak in the beauty of the moment, and then ask the question that would change everything.

And it did… in more ways than one.

As Miguel got down on one knee and proposed, Sean’s reaction was full of emotion, joy, and pure love. It was already a moment I felt incredibly honored to witness. But then, just as Miguel stood up, Sean reached for his own ring.

Yes, Sean had planned a proposal too.

What followed was something truly rare and unforgettable: a second proposal, just as heartfelt and surprising as the first. Two “yes” moments. Two rings. Two people choosing each other in the most beautiful, intentional way. It was emotional, genuine, and one of the most moving experiences I’ve had the privilege to capture.

Miguel and Sean have been together for just a year and a half, but their connection is undeniable. Their relationship blossomed quickly and they moved in together after just six months. It was clear they’ve built something deeply meaningful and strong.

After both of those incredible “I do” moments, we continued exploring Punta Sur for their engagement session, capturing laughter, quiet embraces, and the kind of joy that only comes from knowing you’ve found your person.

Moments like these are exactly why I do what I do. Being invited into such a significant chapter of someone’s love story is something I never take lightly. I am truly honored to document these milestones and to create a space where every couple feels seen, safe, and celebrated.
