Isla Mujeres Wedding: Jordyn and Collin

Sometimes, not having the sun shining brightly can be a blessing in disguise. As couples dream of a perfect, sunny beach wedding, they often envision clear blue skies and endless sunshine. But, as Jordyn and Collin’s destination Isla Mujeres wedding beautifully proved, the sky doesn’t always need to be perfectly sunny to create a stunning backdrop.

Let’s rewind a bit and talk about this wonderful couple. Jordyn and Collin’s journey started with basketball—each playing in different towns but always knowing of one another. It wasn’t until college basketball that their paths crossed, and the sparks flew. Their first date, three and a half years ago, was the beginning of a love story full of laughter and connection. Jordyn recalled how immediately comfortable she felt with Collin, especially how he made her laugh. Collin, on the other hand, was captivated by Jordyn’s intelligence, beauty, and sassy personality.

When it came to planning their wedding, a destination wedding was at the top of their list. Jordyn’s parents had visited Isla Mujeres a few times and spoke so highly of the island that they knew it was the perfect place to celebrate their love. Jordyn and Collin hired Isla Mujeres Elopements to coordinate their lovely celebration.

On the big day, Jordyn and Collin were surrounded by their family and close friends as they exchanged vows on a private beach. The sky was anything but clear—storm clouds loomed on the horizon, creating a dramatic and moody atmosphere. From a photographer’s perspective, the light was absolutely incredible! The soft, overcast sky made for a dreamy, ethereal feel, with the distant storm adding a sense of mystery and beauty to the scene.

While we were taking photos on the beach, Alejandro Campos played Spanish guitar which really added a special dimension to their wedding.

It was truly a magical destination wedding, and I couldn’t be happier for this amazing couple as they begin their next chapter together.
