A Romantic Isla Mujeres Elopement for Leah and Andre at Punta Sur
Leah and Andre’s love story began in a historic hotel in Galveston, Texas, where they met at work about a year ago. It didn’t take long for them to realize they had found the person they were meant to be with. Leah shared that she had never felt more understood or loved, a testament to the deep connection they share.
Leah first visited Isla Mujeres 23 years ago, and when it came time to plan their wedding, she knew the island would be the perfect place to share with Andre. It was his first trip to the island, and together, they decided to have an intimate destination elopement on its stunning shores.
For their ceremony, Leah and Andre chose Ixchel’s Well of Fortune at Punta Sur, a site rich in Mayan cultural significance. With the sound of the waves crashing around them, they exchanged vows—words I could not hear from my vantage point, but the emotion was clear. Their vows were deeply personal and heartfelt. After sealing their promises with a kiss, they concluded the ceremony by offering vibrant petals into the sea, a beautiful and meaningful ritual.
Before the ceremony, I had the privilege of capturing Leah and Andre in the breathtaking landscape of Punta Sur. We wandered the cliffs, with the ocean crashing below, and I was able to document their love in some of the most stunning surroundings Isla Mujeres has to offer. You can view the highlights of this portion of their day here.
The couple’s elopement was planned through my other business, Isla Mujeres Elopements, with the talented Sabina Tamm officiating their ceremony. Leah carried a bouquet of local, seasonal flowers—colorful and vibrant, with lush greenery that complemented the island’s natural beauty. It was a joy to be part of such a magical day.
