Sean and Stacey’s Heart Warming Proposal at Punta Sur, Isla Mujeres

When Sean reached out to me about photographing his proposal to Stacey during their vacation on Isla Mujeres, I knew this was going to be an unforgettable experience. Isla Mujeres, with its stunning vistas, tranquil waters, and charming ambiance, was the perfect backdrop for such a special moment. Little did Stacey know, Sean had been planning a surprise proposal that would leave her speechless—and I had the honor of documenting it all.

The proposal took place at the breathtaking Lookout Platform at Punta Sur, one of the most picturesque spots on the island. From the platform, you can see the sparkling turquoise waters of the Caribbean stretch out in front of you, with rugged cliffs framing the view. It’s a place that feels almost magical, and Sean knew it was the ideal setting for asking Stacey to spend the rest of her life with him.

As Sean and Stacey walked to the platform, I hid at a distance, camera in hand, ready to capture the moment when Sean dropped to one knee. The timing had to be just right—Stacey was completely unaware of what was about to happen. Sean led her to the edge of the platform, and as the sun cast its warm glow over the scene, he took a deep breath and asked Stacey to be his forever.

The moment Stacey saw the ring, her face lit up in pure shock and joy. Her eyes widened as she looked from the ring to Sean, processing what was happening. Then came the tears—tears of happiness and disbelief. It was a reaction so raw and genuine, I knew I had to capture it from every angle. The look of surprise and excitement was truly priceless. Stacey was so overwhelmed with emotion that she could hardly believe what was happening. And then, of course, she said “Yes!”—and that’s when the real magic began.

After the excitement of the proposal, I introduced myself to Stacey and filled her in on Sean’s surprise that he hired me to capture their special moment and now we were going to take their engagement photos! Stacey was thrilled!

Every time Stacey glanced at her ring or caught sight of Sean’s smile, her excitement was palpable.

What made this experience even more special was how surprised Stacey was. She had no idea that Sean was planning the proposal, and her reactions were a true testament to the love they share.
