Casa Coco Wedding, Isla Mujeres | Charis + Amani

When you dream of a destination wedding, you might imagine an intimate island ceremony, the sound of waves gently rolling in, the golden sun setting behind you, and the laughter of close friends and family floating on the breeze. That dream came to life for Charis and Amani at Casa Coco, a serene and stylish boutique villa on Isla Mujeres, Mexico.

Nestled on the island’s quieter southern end, Casa Coco offered the perfect backdrop for Charis and Amani’s celebration. With its panoramic views of the Caribbean Sea, swaying palm trees, and understated luxury, this venue set the stage for a wedding that was both intimate and unforgettable. Casa Coco isn't just a venue—it's an experience. Its private setting and warm, bohemian charm make it one of the most idyllic places for a couple seeking a laid-back yet elegant celebration by the sea.

Charis and Amani chose to keep their wedding beautifully simple and deeply personal. One of the most touching parts of the day was that the bride’s father officiated the ceremony. With heartfelt words and meaningful reflections, his presence added a layer of connection and sentiment that made the ceremony feel truly sacred. Watching Charis walk toward her father and Amani was a moment brimming with love and authenticity.

The mood for the ceremony was set by the talented Alejandro Campos, whose live Spanish guitar created an elegant and soulful atmosphere. His music drifted gently over the ocean breeze, setting the tone for an emotional and heartfelt exchange of vows.

Charis was radiant, thanks to the incredible work of Ursula Lopez, one of the region’s most sought-after hair and makeup artists. Ursula brought out Charis’s natural beauty with a glowing, beach-chic look that perfectly matched the tropical vibe of the day—soft waves, luminous skin, and a timeless elegance that felt effortlessly beautiful.

I was honored to be hired to photograph the ceremony and portraits until sunset, and what a stunning few hours it was. From the emotional vows to the laughter and tears that followed, every moment was rich with meaning. After the ceremony, we wandered around the property and the nearby shoreline, capturing portraits of Charis and Amani as the sun dipped lower in the sky. The light was golden, the breeze was soft, and their love felt easy and real. These sunset portraits turned into some of my absolute favorites—not just because of the breathtaking scenery, but because of the way Charis and Amani completely relaxed into the moment.

Though I wasn’t there for the evening’s festivities, everything about the earlier part of the day made it clear that this was a celebration filled with intention, joy, and close connection. Charis and Amani knew exactly what they wanted: a meaningful ceremony in a gorgeous location, surrounded by those who mattered most.

If you're planning a destination wedding and dreaming of a place that offers beauty, privacy, and a heartfelt experience, Casa Coco on Isla Mujeres is a perfect choice. It’s a venue that allows you to focus on what matters most—love, family, and the start of a new chapter.
