Brittany and Matt’s Isla Mujeres Destination Wedding at Casa Alkimia and Buho’s

There’s something incredibly magical about destination weddings—especially when they unfold in a place as enchanting as Isla Mujeres. I had the honor of photographing Brittany and Matt’s beautiful micro wedding, and it was truly a day to remember. The couple’s celebration was intimate, personal, and filled with so much joy, love, and laughter. From their ceremony at Casa Alkimia to the vibrant reception at Buho’s, every moment was a testament to their connection and the beauty of Isla Mujeres.

Brittany and Matt’s wedding day began at the stunning Casa Alkimia, a private and elegant venue that perfectly set the tone for their special day. The ceremony was intimate, surrounded by close family and friends, and took place in a beautiful, open-air courtyard. The sun-drenched space, with its lush greenery and serene ambiance, created the ideal setting for the couple to exchange vows. Following their ceremony, Brittany, Matt, and I hopped on my golf cart for a little tour of Isla Mujeres before heading to the reception. We made stops at some of the island’s historic and colorful houses, which provided a vibrant backdrop for photos. It was a fun, lighthearted part of the day that allowed the couple to relax and soak in the beauty of the island before the evening festivities.

When we arrived at Buho’s, the reception began in full swing. Buho’s is an incredible oceanside venue, situated right on the beach. With its laid-back vibe, stunning views, and intimate feel, it was the perfect place for Brittany and Matt to celebrate with their closest loved ones. The gentle sound of the waves, the soft sea breeze, and the mesmerizing sunset created the ideal atmosphere for a relaxed yet unforgettable evening.

The reception was filled with laughter and love, with speeches and heartfelt moments shared by friends and family. The dance floor was alive, filled with energy and joy as guests celebrated the newlyweds.
