Punta Sur Proposal and Beachside Engagement Session | Taylor + Shelby

When Taylor reached out to me to capture one of the most important moments of his life, I could feel the excitement in his message. He was planning to propose to his long-time girlfriend, Shelby, at a stunning location in Punta Sur—specifically, the breathtaking spot I refer to as Wave Point. The idea was to not only capture the proposal itself but to then continue the celebration with a beautiful engagement session that would forever tell the story of this unforgettable day.

The day of the proposal arrived, and the weather couldn’t have been more perfect. Taylor had everything planned to a T, and I was ready to capture every moment. As Shelby walked along the cliffs, taking in the scenery, she had no idea that her life was about to change forever. When Taylor dropped to one knee and asked her to spend the rest of her life with him, the look on Shelby’s face said it all—utter surprise, joy, and a touch of disbelief. She was completely overwhelmed in the best way possible. Of course, she said "Yes!" and the moment was filled with pure emotion.

After that magical moment, we continued our session, wandering around the dramatic cliffs of Punta Sur. The sweeping views of the turquoise waters, the rugged coastline, and the soft afternoon light provided the perfect backdrop for this newly-engaged couple. Taylor and Shelby were naturals in front of the camera—laughing, holding hands, and sharing private moments that were nothing short of beautiful.

Next, we jumped into my golf cart and made our way to a secluded stretch of beach, far away from the crowds, to keep the intimate vibe going. There, they popped a bottle of bubbly to toast to their future together. As the sun began to set, casting a golden glow over the ocean, we captured even more moments of joy, love, and celebration. It was the perfect way to close out such a special day—just the two of them, the sand beneath their feet, and the promise of a lifetime ahead.
