Surprise LGBTQ+ Proposal and Engagement Session at Punta Sur, Isla Mujeres | Morgan + Claire

I had the honor of photographing an incredible LGBTQ+ engagement for Morgan and Claire during their vacation on Isla Mujeres. Morgan reached out to me with a clear vision—they wanted to propose to their girlfriend, Claire, in a meaningful, unforgettable way while they were in Cancun, and after seeing my past work with proposals on Isla Mujeres, they knew this was the place for them.

Morgan and Claire were staying at the Riu Palace Kukulkan in Cancun, and after much planning, we came up with a plan for Morgan’s proposal on Isla Mujeres at Punta Sur. Known for its dramatic cliffs and sweeping views of the Caribbean, Punta Sur is a perfect backdrop for such a special moment. Morgan choose my favorite spot, wave point, for their proposal.

The moment Morgan dropped to one knee, I could see the look of surprise and pure joy on Claire’s face. The love and emotion were palpable, and Claire’s reaction was priceless. Her smile, the sparkle in her eyes—it was everything you hope to see when capturing such a personal moment. Claire’s “Yes!” was followed by a tight embrace, and the air was filled with so much happiness.

After the excitement of the proposal, we spent the next hour taking photos around the cliffs of Punta Sur, soaking in the beautiful views and the joy of their engagement. The light was perfect, and the energy between Morgan and Claire was electric as we captured their love in every shot.

Once we wrapped up their session, I gave the couple a ride back to the ferry in my golf cart, where they continued to celebrate as they headed back to their hotel in Cancun.

Being able to document Morgan and Claire’s proposal was an absolute joy. Their connection and love were undeniable, and I feel so lucky to have been part of such a meaningful moment in their lives.
