Cherokee Ranch and Castle Wedding | Heather + Greg

High on a Colorado promontory… in the heart of a protected 3,400-acre ranch preserve… rises a medieval-inspired castle where Heather and Greg were married. The stunning Cherokee Ranch and Castle, is a Scottish-style castle on the National Register of Historic Places and is located just 45 minutes from Denver.

As our bride and groom were getting ready in the castle, guests started arriving and made their way to the staging area where they gathered the elements to build their qintu's (prayer bundles).

Although Heather and Greg didn't want to see each other before the ceremony, they wanted to have a special, private moment where they could touch, but not see each other. I was truly having a hard time not crying during this special moment. It was so wonderful, so tender.

Their Shaman sister performed the most incredible ceremony. Throughout the ceremony, guests blew wishes for the happy couple into their prayer bundles. Heather and Greg surprised each other with their wedding bands that they didn't see until the rings were put onto their fingers. The ceremony ended with them jumping the broom.

After the ceremony, guests hugged and kissed the happy couple as their prayer bundles were collected for the Despacho ceremony which was held in the courtyard of the castle.

The reception was held in the tent pavilion just outside the castle. It was a festive celebration full of love, happiness and laughter.

I feel so blessed to have been Heather and Greg's wedding photographer. They are each incredible people and together are the most wonderful couple!
