Golden Light and Island Magic: Tiffany & Dakota’s Pre-Ceremony Photo Session at Punta Sur

Some places have a way of calling you back. For Tiffany and Dakota, Isla Mujeres is one of those places—a tiny island full of charm, tranquility, and the kind of beauty that feels almost otherworldly. This was their second time visiting the island, and it was clear from the moment we met that it holds a very special place in their hearts. And what better way to celebrate their return than with a stunning pre-ceremony couples session at the breathtaking Punta Sur?

Tiffany and Dakota are working with my sister company, Isla Mujeres Elopements, to coordinate their micro wedding beach celebration. But before the vows, the rings, and the “I dos,” they wanted to take some time together—just the two of them—to soak in the magic of the island and capture this meaningful chapter in their story.

We met at Punta Sur, the southernmost tip of Isla Mujeres, known for its dramatic cliffs, panoramic ocean views, and early sunrises. It’s a place where the sky feels bigger, the breeze a little saltier, and time seems to slow down. As we explored the rocky paths and winding walkways overlooking the sea, the late afternoon light was absolutely magical. There’s a softness to golden hour here that wraps everything—couples, waves, the very air—in a romantic glow. And on this particular day, the light didn’t disappoint.

Tiffany and Dakota were naturals in front of the camera. Their connection was easy and genuine, full of quiet laughter and soft touches. They moved together effortlessly, and you could feel how grounded they are as a couple. This wasn’t just a photo session—it was a pause in the whirlwind of wedding planning, a quiet moment to breathe, connect, and simply be with each other.

As they walked hand-in-hand along the cliffside, the ocean crashing below, it was easy to see why Isla Mujeres draws them back. After our Punta Sur session, we headed to a private beach where they had their intimate wedding celebration surrounded by those who love them most.
