A Beautiful Isla Mujeres Micro Wedding for Phoenix and Cayla

Phoenix and Cayla's story began in 2020 in an unexpected way—Phoenix adopted Cayla's cat, Raisin! It might not be the usual way to meet someone, but it worked perfectly for them. From the very beginning, they felt an instant connection, both feeling comfortable around each other right away. It’s clear that their bond was meant to be.

Although Cayla had never visited Isla Mujeres before, Phoenix had fond memories of the island from when he first visited at the age of five. Together, they knew they wanted a small destination wedding in Mexico, and with Phoenix’s desire to show Cayla this beautiful island, they decided Isla Mujeres would be the perfect place to exchange their vows.

Before heading to the beach for their intimate ceremony, I had the pleasure of meeting up with Phoenix and Cayla for a pre-ceremony couple’s session at Punta Sur. Highlights from their Punta Sur session can be viewed here.

On a beautiful day in May, Phoenix and Cayla said their vows on our private beach, surrounded by their closest loved ones. The ceremony was simple yet beautiful, full of emotion and love. After their touching “I DOs”, everyone celebrated with champagne, laughter, and plenty of hugs—such a joyful moment to witness!

It was an absolute honor to be part of their special day and to document the love and happiness that Phoenix and Cayla share. Their Isla Mujeres wedding was filled with so much beauty and joy, and I’m grateful to have captured it all.
